The Kosovar Mathematical Society was founded on 22 August 2008 in Prishtina. Its aim is to support the advancement of pure and applied mathematics.
The purpose of the society is the advancement of the existing capacities and
the creation of new ones for undertaking academic and pedagogical activities in
the fields of pure and applied mathematics.
To achieve this purpose, the Society undertakes, but is not limited to, the
following activities:
(a) Organizes and supports seminars, conferences, forums, or other types of
public organizations;
(b) Publishes and purchases journals, books, and other scientific and
professional material;
(c) Cooperates with organizations, societies, institutions, and individuals
inside and outside of Kosovo to advance mathematics;
(d) Organizes and supports various activities (e.g., competitions, seasonal
schools, series of courses, etc.) for youth interested in mathematics;
(e) Organizes and supports various activities (e.g., series of courses or
lectures) for teachers, to advance the quality of teaching.
